Stepping Stones Stepping Stones began seven years ago, as a bible study group for young mums. It started off with six members. Now it has over thirty, ranging from young mums to grandmas.
Our overall aim at Stepping Stones is to come to terms with the challenges of God's Word and to encourage each other in our roles as Christian women.
Regular members describe Stepping Stones as "friendship, fellowship and sharing", "an oasis during a busy week", comfortable", "relaxing", laughter & fun". A good knowledge of the bible is not essential.
We meet each Thursday from 10:00-11:30 in term time in the Upper Lounge at St. Peter and St. Paul. A creche is run for pre-school children enabling their mums to study in peace. We are so grateful to the ladies who run this so faithfully each week.
We have a good number of people attending, so we now break into three groups to study and pray, once we have enjoyed fellowship over coffee!
Recently we have looked at Proverbs concerning family life, followed by Ephesians and passages in John's Gospel based on the morning sermon series. In November 2008 we were privileged to have Julie Sheldon speak at our evangelistic morning. We were encouraged as several visitors came.
Various church members share in the leading of the Bible studies. We thank God for His enabling and blessing each week. We pray that we will encourage one another to be 'living stones' for Jesus as we serve Him in our homes and in the life of our Church.
Anyone wishing to join will be warmly welcomed.
