Who's who
|
 |
 | | The Rev'd Mark Brown Vicar of the Parish
My responsibility is to oversee the work of the Parish.
I value working together with others and seeing their God given gifts released into effective areas
of service and ministry. In 1999 I was made a founder member of the College of Evangelists by the
Archbishops of Canterbury and York. My role as Rural Dean means we have good links with
the Diocese as a Parish and our collaborative work with other clergy in the area is enhanced.
I am keen music lover and enjoy family life with my wife Allison,
five children and two mad Springer spaniels!

The Rev'd Peter Goodridge Parish Curate
Before becoming a full-time minister of the gospel, I worked in London for 20 years in IT.
However, letting people know the love of Jesus Christ is my main passion, hence the change of career.
I enjoy cycling (in fair weather), listening to weird Progressive Rock music, watching Red Dwarf and
being with my wife, Lisa, and our two sons.

Jane Higgs PA To Rev'd Mark Brown
As a member of the lay staff team, it is a privilege to serve and contribute to the life of our Parish family,
a part of which I have been since childhood. Over the years my faith has been challenged, and, therefore, strengthened
in a number of ways.
I help to co-ordinate our annual children's Bright Lights party, and enjoy home-life with my husband, Steve,
supporting our son in his varied activities, and spending time with our family and friends.

Alyson Bleakley Parish Administrator
My job as administrator is concerned with the Sunday services at St Peter and St Paul, but also covers
the day to day issues within the church centre. I very much enjoy all the interaction with wonderful
volunteers and parishoners this brings. I help with GYM, (our Sunday children's group), and the summer
holiday club, and host a home group with my husband John. We have 3 lovely children who keep us fairly busy.

Dawn Scrivener General Parish Administrator (with special responsibility for St Saviour's and St Andrew's)
My main responsibilities are to sort out Thanksgivings, Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals for the Parish, and
to compile and edit the Parish Notice sheet. I am married to Jim with two grown up children, and enjoy travelling, gardening, reading and going for country walks with my old black Labrador Jasper.
In my spare(!!!!) time I run the Church Beaver Scout Group which is the youngest Scout Section taking in boys and girls ages 6-8 years.

 | |
Jane Mata Administrator for St Philip's Church
St Philip’s is a busy and caring church, used by a wide range of groups.
I support the users and leaders here,
and I am also trying to improve communications across the parish.
I like music, history and being active. My ideal holiday: doing a long distance walk,
where I discover an ancient manor house for Time Team to investigate!

 |
 | |
Victoria Lawrence Schools’ Worker
My role includes visiting primary schools at their assemblies to promote events
happening in church, hopefully drawing more children and young people in to discover
God for themselves. I also help out when the Church hosts schools’ days, and assist with the ‘Sing out Loud’ admin work.
This year I shall also be assisting with the drama at holiday club, which I am looking forward to, and working on a Children’s booklet with Mark.
I enjoy singing, being involved with the music groups and choir, drama, and supporting Arsenal I am a proud Gooner (when they win which is a rarity these days!)

David Robins Church Warden
As Churchwardens we give support to the Vicar in his work,
and are responsible for the maintenance and contents of all the church buildings.
Of course the deputy Wardens carry the main burden for this, for which we are most grateful!
I am married to Roxanne and we have three daughters and seven grandchildren; I also enjoy singing, golf, gardening and travelling.

David Balcombe Church Warden
Looking at some old parish records I have discovered that I joined the Tonbridge Parish Church Choir on the 27th July 1959, I don’t think I have looked back since! I feel very blessed to be part of the fellowship here. I still enjoy singing, playing guitar and being able to worship. I am one of the team of Readers.
I spend my days building things working alongside others as a Contracts Manager with a local construction company.
I am married to Wendy, we have three daughters, one still at university, one son and five grandchildren. One of our main joys is to follow the musical and dancing exploits of our growing family.
