Our History
Tonbridge Parish has a long history going back to Saxon times. Closely linked to the development of the town, and also to the wider issues of conquest and the Reformation, a detailed history can be seen here, and links to the histories of individual church buildings are below.
Many of the older documents relating to the history of the church and parish are now held at the Kent History & Library Centre in Maidstone. However, the archive at St Peter & St Paul includes historical documents relating to the parish, church building, local schools and events. There also a number of photographs.
