At Tonbridge Parish Church we are seeking to grow in our support for people of all ages and stages of their lives.

We are aware that throughout our lives we will all face different joys and challenges, some of which may be age specific.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to our vision ‘Equipping youngest to oldest to live courageous lives for Christ’ we are developing our support for and encouragement of those who would call themselves senior!

We are seeking to:

· Encourage and support seniors to live full and meaningful lives for Christ, understanding the particular challenges that retirement and older age may bring.

· Encourage a culture where seniors grow spiritually, being valued as a part of the Tonbridge Parish Church family.

And we are looking to do this through:

· Discipleship

· Pastoral Care

· Cross generational engagement

· Support and signposting

· Prayer and Fellowship.

Stepping Stones Ladies Bible Study Group is great for Christians. If you are a member of our church family, homegroups are a great place to grow spiritually and care for one another pastorally.

We value our time as a church family as we worship, pray together and offer prayer support. For more information about our congregations and services.

As a part of our commitment to seniors we have also appointed a Minister for Seniors who works with those aged around 70+, alongside the pastoral care team, clergy and other members of the church family by:

· supporting and encouraging seniors to grow in their Biblical Christian faith,

· discipling seniors to live courageously for Christ.

· supporting seniors to engage in the life of our church family.

· supporting seniors to live Christ-honouring lives with the challenges that older age brings.

· offering care for the bereaved and home visiting as an active part of the evolving Pastoral Care Team and care home ministry.

· Being an advocate for the seniors on the staff team.

What should I expect when I visit a service?

A warm welcome!  A typical service will have hymns and / or songs, prayers, and a sermon from a Bible passage linked to our current sermon series. There is opportunity for private prayer, or prayer with one of our prayer ministry team at the end. Refreshments are served after the services.

What is there for children and young people?

We have a fantastic programme for children and young people (0-14s) as part of our 10.30am congregation at St Peter & St Paul. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service, before going to their own activities. Our older teens (Year 10-13) meet after the 5pm service at St Philip.

For more information please see Children, Youth and Families page

How long will the service take?

Our services typically last about 60-75 minutes.
