The Bible directs us to ‘speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable’ (Proverbs 31: 8)

The care & protection of children, young people & vulnerable adults involved in church activities is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the church family.

To help promote a safer church environment and culture, the PCC appoints a PSO to take special responsibility for safeguarding who works with the Vicar & others as part of a team.

The Parish Safeguarding Team are:

Ben Thorndike (Vicar), Wendy Carr (Associate Vicar and Parish Safeguarding Officer), Alyson Bleakley (Minister for Families), Sally Musson (Minister for Seniors) and Paul White (Lead Recruiter).

In the first instance, if you or someone else are in immediate danger please call 999

If you can’t speak, cough, or tap the handset then press 55 on your phone – the police will know it’s an emergency.


We understand that reporting concerns may not be easy but it is very important you do so, your concerns will be taken seriously and acted upon.
