Normally we also have monthly Saturday walks - sometimes doing a long distance challenge trail.

Walk of Saturday 26th June is 'The Aylesford Pilgrimage Walk' from Rochester Cathedral to the The Friars at Aylesford.  According to the John Merrill guidebook it is 13 miles, so no blaming me if it turns out longer than that!  Map here

Walk for Saturday 5th June is Hasting to Rye - about 18 kilometres - map here

Walk for May Day Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 1st May) is from Edenbridge to Tonbridge in large part via the Eden Valley Way - about 20 kilometers.  Maps is here.

Walk for Easter Saturday (3rd April) is from Teston Bridge to North Tonbridge via the River Medway and the Greensand Way - about 18 kilometers.  Overview and detailed maps are here.  Catch number 7 bus from Tonbridge High Street to the start.

For the weekend of 12/13 March here is a lovely loop from Matfield of 15 kilometers.  Great views and varied landscapes of fields, orchards and woods.  Overall map here, and detailed map here.  Park on common in Matfield by Cricket Pavilion

This week (6 March) there are two options, one for those with transport and one for those without
Route by bus (number 7) is from Teston along the River Medway back to Tonbridge - about 10 miles - map here
Route by car is from Ightham Mote (use NT car park) - has two variants (short 5 miles or longer 7 miles) both out to Godden Green along the ridge, but the longer version takes in Oldbury Hill - map of both variants here

Walk for the week of 27 February is a loop from Ide Hill.  It is relatively dry being on the Greensand Ridge.  It goes out via Emmetts Garden to French Street and returns along the Greensand Way to Ide Hill via Toy's Hill.  We saw a Red Kite shortly after starting out.  The map is here

Walk for the week of 13 February is the Three Churches walk which we have done before, but with the ground frozen, it is now easier.  The churches are Tudeley, Capel and the one near Pembury by Kent College.  I have shown it as a clockwise version, rather than the ant-clockwise one we did before.  The walk has two versions - Long (10 miles) from Tonbridge High Street and short (5 miles) from Tudeley Church car park - see map here

Walk for week of 6 February is from Underriver - climb the Greensand Ridge into the back of Knole Park, where a clockwise loop is made round the house and golf course to exit back onto the road further E along the ridge.  The route follows the road to One Tree Hill, then the Greensand Way past Rooks Hill before descending to Budd's Green and then back to Underriver along the base of the ridge.  It is about 8 miles.  See outline map here, and route map here

The things you see on the walks - a rivetting family scene! (on the route below as you head back into Tonbridge)

The the route for a walk of the week of 30 January has been set by Nick Harrowing.  Thanks mate.  It goes out through the park and the river to the flood barrier, crosses over to the road from Powder Mills to Leigh, and the comes back from Leigh over the fields and back via Hawden Farm at the back of Hildenborough.  Take care on the road sections. To avoid some of the mud by the Medway on the way out, you can go via Barden lake and through the car park and re-cross the river before the barrier.  See outline map and description here, and more detailed map here

The walk for week of 23 January is from St Philips.  Go to Higham Lane and L to Poult Wood Golf Course.  Cross golf course to Ashes Lane, R & L into High House Lane.  Follow this to Stallions Green, R onto track back through Hadlow College to A26.  R and L into Blackmans Lane. Halfway down path on R to Faulkner's Oast.  Here turn L to Three Elm Lane, then L and R onto path.  Here you can go to Fish Hall, then back through the streets to Cage Green, or carry on south to River medway and follow this back into town.  It is about 6 or 7 miles.  Four PDF maps here - one, two, three, four
